What is Chipchik.com?
Chipchik.com presents local eating
Establishments that may make
promotional offerings that you can take advantage of. Unlike other
websites Chipchik gives the Establishments total control of their
promotional activities to increase their revenue.
What
countries are currently covered by Chipchik.com?
USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa
Are
only the major cities in these countries included?
No in
addition to the major cities that are always covered Chipchik has
listing for hundreds of smaller cities in all countries. Type in some of
the smaller places you visit – you will be surprised by the details we
offer.
Where
did the Chipchik.com listings come from?
From
public information available from a number of Internet sources. Effort
was made to insure the legitimacy and accuracy of the data provided by
these sources however Chipchik cannot guarantee any of the information
displayed. Please contact Establishments directly if you have any
questions?
What
do the colored icons to the right of the Establishment name represent?
The
key to the icons is displayed at the bottom left. Establishments showing
W have a Website, M indicates a menu, R indicates reviews, D indicates
delivery and I indicates wi-fi service. Clicking on an icon next to a
listing will display the appropriate web page.
How
can I make my own Chipchik Profile?
Click
the “Join Now” option under the Chipchik logo on the top left.
Do I
need to join in order to view offers from eating Establishments?
No all
promotions offered are shown to all Chipchik users
What
are the benefits of joining?
You
can save you own favorite maps so that you can instantly move to the
places you most often frequent plus you can create a list of your
favorite Establishments so you can instantly see what promotions they
are offering
Does it cost anything to join?
.No, there is no cost to join and become a member and start using the
custom features offered to members.
What
is the benefit of providing my mobile phone number?
This
is totally optional but if you provide a mobile phone number you can
receive a text message when any of your favorite Establishments
introduces a new promotion.
What
is “My Maps?”
Chipchik allows you to save any number of maps that represent the areas
where you most often frequent or visit.
How do
I save a map of an area I frequent to My Profile.
When
you have the map of the area you are interested in displayed click “Save
Current Map” in the maps area in the top left corner. You can then give
that map a name that is meaningful to you. Your entry will then be saved
to your profile and you can recall from the drop down at any time
What is My Favorites?
Chipchik allows you to tag any number of Establishments as
Favorites so you can easily view those Establishment details.
How
can I maintain a list of my Favorite Establishments?
Click
on the name of the Establishment you are interested in on the list in
the center of the screen. A popup pointing to that Establishment will be
displayed on the map. Click the option “Add to Favorites” in the popup.
You will then be given the opportunity to optionally say if you wish to
be alerted by e-mail or text message of promotional offers from that
Establishment.
How do I delete a Favorite?
Click
on “Show my Favorites” at the top left below the Chipchik logo. All you
favorites will be displayed. Besides each Establishment in your
favorites list is a “Remove” option. When clicked the selected
Establishment will be removed from your favorites list.
What
if my favorite Establishment is not on Chipchik.com?
Please
let the Establishment know about Chipchik. They will get more exposure
in their local market and you can be kept advised of their promotional
activities.
Why
are the pins on the map sometimes all grouped closely together.
Chipchik returns the 50 Establishments closest to the center of the map.
In areas such as major cities Establishments are often close together.
If you click on the full map and drag it so that the area you are
interested is close to the center of the map Chipchik will return the
Establishments in that area.
How
can I change the location displayed on the map?
There are several ways:
1. Enter
a new location in the search area on the left and press enter
2. Click
and drag the shaded rectangle (or square) in the overview map at the
bottom right hand corner of the map. If you drag it to the edge of the
overview the whole map will move. Releasing the drag will reposition the
map to that location and show the Establishments in that area.
3. lick
on the main map and drag it around. Releasing the drag will reposition
the map to that location and show the Establishments in that area.
4. Drag the rectangle in the Map within a Map box at the bottom right
corner of the main map.
How
can I zoom in or out of the displayed map?
Use
Google's Zoom control at the top left corner of the map. Use the “+” to
zoom in, the “-“ to zoom out.
How
can I search for a particular Establishment?
Enter
the Establishment name (or part of its name) in the Establishment field
in the search area on the left and press enter. The Establishment search
will look for matches within 100 miles/160 kilometers of the center of
the currently displayed map. If multiple matches are found the closest
10 matches are returned. The remaining listings shown are the
Establishments closest to the first match returned.
I
typed in my address and nothing happened, what do I do?
Type
in the name of your town and country from where you can zoom into you
specific location. If more than one matching location is found they will
be listed immediately below the search box from which you can make your
selection.
How
many Establishments can I view at one time?
Chipchik displays up to 50 Establishments at a time in the center
listing and on the map. As you move the map around the center listing refreshs so that you can easily review all
Establishments in an area.
What
if I find a Establishment that is closed?
Please
let us know by clicking on that Establishment name in the center listing
and selecting the “Issue” link in the popup bubble.
How
can I see the promotions being offered in my area?
Select
from the drop down options next to “Display All Promoters” on the left side
that allow you to select the size of the area you wish to search and
click Go.
How do
I know what dates the promotional offers displayed apply to?
When
first displayed all offers for the next week are displayed starting from
the current day. If you hold your mouse over a particular day of the
week the date of that day is displayed in a popup.
If I
just want to see offers for dinner on Monday what do I do?
Simply
click on Monday from the days displays – all the other days will be
disabled. Then click on Dinner from the time periods below – again all
the other periods will disable and the list below will change to reflect
only the Establishments with offers for Monday dinner.
How do
I see all the dinner Promotions offered in next three days?
Click
the Multiple button to the right of the days. Then click the three days
you are jnterested in. The list below will change to reflect the
Establishments with offers for those days?
How do
I see the details of a specific promotion?
Click
on the short description of the promotion. Full details for promotion
will be displayed below. Click the short description again to hide the
details.
How do
I see offers for more than one day/more than one meal time?
Click
the Multiple buttons to the right of the days and meal times. Then click
the days and meal times you are interested in. The list below will
change to reflect the Establishments with offers for those days.
I want
to see all offers from a single Establishment, what do I do?
Click
on the Establishment name in the promotions listing. All promotions
offered by that Establishment will be displayed below. Click on the
Establishment name again to hide the details.
How
can I view the an Establishment's menu?
If an
Establishment has a menu the menu icon “M” will be displayed following
the Establishments telephone number. Click on the M icon to display the
menu web page.
How
can I see the open hours for an Establishment?
Click
on the “Info” link following the Establishments telephone number.
How
can I change the dates of the offers I see?
Click
on the calendar icon to the right of the “Multiple” button next to the
days of the week and select the date from which you wish to see offers
from.
Can I
see Chipchik on my iPhone?
Yes
Chipchik is available for use on the IPhone – plus you can access your
favorite maps and Establishments directly from your IPhone.
Are there employment
opportunities with Chipchik.com?
Yes we
offer a very rewarding associate program where working as an Independent
Contractor you can sign up Establishments to Chipchik and create an
ongoing income for yourself.

What
makes Chipchik different from our websites and services?
Other
websites offer passive services where you pay to be listed and wait for
people to take action. Chipchik allows you to dynamically create and
manage promotions by day and by time period. Changes made are reflected
instantly on Chipchik. You can also promote your offer to the top of the
lists to compliment your promotion activities.
How
much does it cost?
$20 US
allows you to run 3 simultaneous promotions for one month and includes 3
“Immediate Move to Top” credits. Additional promotions and credits can
be purchased for nominal fees.
What
is an “Immediate Move to Top” Credit?
An
“Immediate Move to Top” credit allows you to move one of your promotions
to the top of the list of all promotions available in your area – the
area that visitors in your area see first. You will remain in that
exclusive top of list area for 6 hours.
We are
outside the United States how much does it cost us?
The price is the same regardless of where you are in the world – all
charges to your credit card will be processed in US dollars (depending
upon exchange rates this can be a very good deal.)
Do I
have to sign a contract?
No –
there is no contact to use the Chipchik service and you can stop at any
time
Are
there any other hidden costs – for example food trades etc.?
No
How
can I pay for the service?
All
payments are made by credit card in US dollars on our secure site.
How do
I know my credit card information is secure?
All
payments are processed through the Authorized.Net payment gateway– one
of the premier international credit card processors.
How do
I get my Establishment to appear at the top of the list on the day when
my promotion is running?
Use
your “Immediate Move to Top Credits” – you get 3 credits every month and
you can purchase additional credits if required.
How
can I promote for more than one Establishment location?
You
can group any number of Establishments under one promotional group. Each
Establishment we pay the standard monthly fee. All Establishments oin
the group must run the same promotions.
What
if the location that is shown on the map is not where my Establishment
is located?
This
is very common as the mapping services show locations as if they are
always directly on the street i.e. it does not take into account if you
are located back from the street or in a shopping center. In Chipchik
when you edit your Establishments detail you can also drag and drop the
pin for your Establishment on your area map to match your exact
location.
How do
I add a new promotion and delete an old one?
You
can maintain a library of up to 25 promotions e.g. you could keep your
Mother’s Day promotion on file for update each year. You control which
ones are active and when – you can delete and add promotions as you
wish.
My
Establishment does not have a website, what can I do?
Our
studies show that an Establishment that has a web site on Chipchik is 7
times more likely to be clicked upon by users that one without. If you
do not have a website we can create a micro web site for your
Establishment for $5 per month. For that fee you can upload your logo,
pictures of your Establishments and menu. You will then be listed with
both a web site and menus on Chipchik thereby greatly expanding your
exposure.
How does Chipchik contact customers about my offers?
When
you offer a new promotion if you have customers who have selected your
Establishment as one of their favorites and have given their are given
the opportunity (at their discretion) to elect to be contacted by
e-mail, text or both when you introduce a new promotion.
If I
have a promotion that starts next month, how can I set up the offer?
Since
you can maintain a library of up to 25 promotions you can set up
promotions in advance and schedule them to start on any date in the
future.
If I
have online reservations available how can I show this option on
Chipchik.com?
Yes –
simply add the link to your on line reservations and Chipchik users will
be able to make their reservations.
Can I
post job offers on Chipchik.com?
Yes –
a job posting is treated as any other promotion in Chipchik
Is
there a place for me to provide the open hours of my Establishment?
Yes –
when you update your Establishment details you can enter your hours
along with other pertinent data.
